TCU vs Texas

TCU vs Texas : The Texas Longhorns have stated all season that their primary goal is to compete for a Big 12 championship, and that journey starts this week against the TCU Horned Frogs.

TCU vs Texas Live

This game may come down to which sophomore quarterback is able to turn in a better performance, Texas’s Sam Ehlinger or TCU’s Shawn Robinson. Ehlinger struggled with consistency a year ago, but may have solved the problem, turning in three 200-yard, two-touchdown performances through three games. TCU’s Shawn Robinson yardage totals have grown week-to-week, but threw two interceptions against Ohio State and fumbled in the end zone.

The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes owned their first two games of the season against Oregon State and Rutgers. Now, the Buckeyes head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for a rare neutral site game against the No. 15 TCU Horned Frogs, even though the game will be played less than 18.5 miles from TCU’s campus. It will be Ryan Day’s final game as interim head coach for Ohio State, and he’ll be facing Gary Patterson, the second-longest tenured head coach in the FBS.

Going 3-1 to start the season would be yet another milestone in the long Longhorns journey back to national prominence. Texas hasn’t started a season 3-1 since 2012, which was also the last time Texas managed to reach nine wins.

Texas: The Longhorns finally got their big name brand win against USC, but beating TCU would undoubtedly be the better sign that second-year coach Tom Herman has this thing actually moving in the right direction. The Horns have lost four straight to TCU by an average of 30 points. Thirty. A win would not only give more validation to Herman, it would get a huge burden off of his back.

TCU: So the Horned Frogs gave Ohio State everything it could handle. Moral victories aren’t a thing, but there’s no real shame in coming up short against a team that could win the national championship. Another Big 12 Championship Game appearance is still very much a possibility. In fact, you could argue that following the Ohio State game, TCU looks like one of the strongest contenders to Oklahoma in the conference title race. Handling Texas would keep up those appearances.
